RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Hello all! :) Downstairs at this crazy hour and thought I would pop in to say I'm still here. It's 39 F here now but I still have some snow in the backyard. Getting itchy feet; camping of course. We have our May long weekend reserved. Now we keep our fingers crossed the weather will be good for fishing. I'm taking along my ski pants "just" in case! :R I'm watching the fuel prices up here as well. Presently; if my conversion is correct; it work out to be $4.51 per gallon. We'll need to fill the extra tank so I'm saving up for that. :E Not sure if we'll get any holidays this year with the DH having to take extra time at the beginning of the year. We're hoping we'll get at least a week. We would love to get some fall fishing in this year. Well it's late/early however one takes this hour. I've set the coffee pot and I left some fresh biscuits next to the coffee maker. Have a great day everyone! Kelly

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Hello all :) I thought I would drop in and say hello. HELLO. Just wanted to let you know I haven't fallen down or up any stairs of late and with the temperatures we've been having up here I haven't frozen to the sidewalk; yet! This morning would have been a good morning for it. Just wanted to let you all know how lucky you are. When I brought the dog in this morning it was -47 with the windchill. She has alot of fur on her but she was shivering, poor girl. I'm calling in my favors now for some warm weather. I just can't seem to get warm; maybe by spring. Well at least we have the weather to complain about. When I don't have to wrap myself up in a couple of blankets I'll come down and catch up on the thread. I've been too long away from the heating pad. Talk to later. Take Care Kelly

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Good morning everyone! :) Coffee is on and I have a few logs on the fire this am. It's -24 F out there this morning; BRRRRR. The dog was sitting at the back door looking at me as if to say "What took you so long". I've made cabbage rolls for supper tonight. Finally decided to reorganize my movie collection. Found I'm missing 8 movies. Not quite sure where they went to. I put shelves up in my spare closet in the basement and lined them up in there. I have to wait and get another shelf and decide where I'm going to put the other "stuff" from the closet.:R Well I'm off to see what other chore I can get into this am. Hope everyone stays WARM. Take care. Kelly

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Hi everyone! I was just up raiding the fridge for more cheesecake. It's been awhile since I've traveled to the lower regions of the house. We also had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. The cat's have finally stopped using the tree ornaments as punching bags; it only took six years. I had a complete day of cooking. Finally tried my hand at cooking lobster tails. I'll just say that the the DH believes we no longer have to eat out. Wow what a compliment. OOP'S; perhaps I'll never get out to a fancy eatery again. It's -15 out there right now. A little chilly for me. We should be moving into the colder temperatures soon; perhaps, maybe or not. When we do I'll be requesting express delivery of that nice warm weather you have. Coffee to go with my cheesecake and now I can have a piece of banana bread. Who says it doesn't pay to be up late :) Stay well and warm.

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Good Morning everyone. It's 3 outside presently with a windchill of -20. The dog will not be wanting to go out to quickly this am. I've got hot Rum Cider and icebox cookies by the fire. I know it's a little early for the rum but, what the hay. I fell in the garage the other day against an engine crate. I look like I went a couple of rounds in a boxing ring. :S We have a gathering on Tuesday and I'm hoping makeup will cover it. DH will be out shoveling this am. We got some snow yesterday. We did the usual Christmas run to different grocery stores to purchase "parsley". You would think they would get more in stock for this time of year; they know it's going to sell fast and furious. :R Thought I would pop in and say hi to all before I start making my cranberry sauce; lemon butter for my Lemon Poppy seed cake and sour dough bread. Are you hungry yet?? :B I know now I am. I'm going to scoot upstairs and get started. If I don't get a chance to get back in here before Christmas I would like to Wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year!!!! Kelly

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Good Morning All. It's been a bit since I've been down here to peek in. It's presently 1.4 outside. Thursday they had the highway closed in the morning so I had the DH home from work. He was out shoveling. He hasn't broke out the snowblower yet. He seems to enjoy getting out there and getting some exercise by shoveling the driveway. Got the last of my Christmas shopping done on Saturday. We went into the big city. Wow, I couldn't believe the traffic. It was a good combination. Payday, Saturday and 10 days before Christmas. DH treated me out at one of our favorite restaurants. When we got home we were commenting on the traffic situation in town. 2 cars on the main drag. I don't miss the big city at all. I put a pot of coffee on and some shortbread cookies by the microwave, enjoy. Take care out there and stay warm. Later, Kelly

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Good morning all. It's a lovely -5 this am. I'm waiting for the temperature to really dip until ask Joe to send me up some warm weather. Looks like I'll get a visit from the best girlfriend soon. She's looking for a used vehicle and there's not much to choose from in her small town. She lives out of province so I don't get to see her too often. The house will be full with animals and a couple of kids running after the animals. I have my tree up already so it'll have a festive feel to it all. I'm on the slow side today so I'll get a few things done and park myself in my chair. Hope everyone has a good day. Take care and I'll check in later. Ok, now what's with this "Your message containts invalid formatting"? This is a first. Perhaps this indicates what kind of day I'm going to have?

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Morning all; it's 7 degrees this am. Definitely getting to look more like winter. Ah winter; remember winter tires? Four on and four off. Jon, I have 2 cats; one is so mischievous he more than makes up for a couple more. Then add a Great Pyrenees bouncing around playing with 2 cats and believe me you have a house "full". I was going to have 3 cats but once I got "ALVIN" we changed our minds. Then of course there is the 3 animal rule in the city. The excitement did die down a little when we lost our Cockatiel a couple years back. He lived to 22 years. The cats were scared of him. He was quite the character for a bird. Well my cleaning lady will be here shortly; I left some mincemeat tarts by the coffee pot. I hope everyone has a good day.

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Good morning all! It's a lovely -11 here this am reaching a high of 5 this evening. I had to dig out the winter boots now. We have snow!! It looks more like November outside. I hope you don't mind; I turned the coffee pot on a little early this am. Love chocolate cookies. The DH got the dishwasher installed on Sunday. I'm always walking by it to make sure it's running; it's sooooo quite I can't hear it run. :C We had the Grey Cup on Sunday and Manitoba lost out to Saskatchewan. Oh well there's always next year. The house is awake a little early this am. I'm trying to get my Christmas gifts made in time. Well the cat is nibbling on the modem wires and throwing things around the desk. He want's breakfast. I best go and feed him. I hope everyone has a great day today. Take care.

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Good morning. I thought I would drop by this morning and get some good coffee! It's only 3 degrees up here, brrrrrrr! I thing the dog knows as she's not too swift about getting up this morning. Actually she hasn't moved from her spot yet. The cat keeps cuddling in my lap; all I'm missing is a fire and a good book. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. I'd say don't eat too much but that's what it's all about. I hope you all bottled a lot of warm weather this summer. I wonder what the duty will be on that? Take care, safe driving.

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Jim, I was hoping to get in early enough to make coffee and set some danish out before you left. So now there's a lot to go around for everyone who pops in today. It's a chilly 26 this morning. Not sure what the roads are like yet. We're being fortunate so far as the "white" stuff is concerned. It could stay like this until Spring. Somehow I know that's not going to happen. The owner stands beside the service tech as they look over his vehicle. The service tech looks over and says to him. " I know why your vehicle won't start. The warranty ran out yesterday" :S Just something to start the day with. Take care all.

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Afternoon Everyone! How's things? The weather here is 36. It snowed heavy yesterday leaving trace evidence of it today. Jon people are getting caught of guard hear as well. A few vehicles have already gone in the ditch. I'm hand making some Christmas gifts right now. I know for all you you'r having your Thanksgiving dinner. I hope everyone enjoys theirs. Just downstairs today. Having some pluming problems, thank goodness we have a spare washroom. If it's not one thing going wrong it's another. Must be the year for it. Thank goodness we only have a month and half to the end of this year! The 3/4 ton is only a regular cab, the box is DH's inventory. Thus being the reason for taking the 1 ton shopping. Once I get my walker in the regular cab it leaves little room for shopping bags. I hope you all have a wonderfull Thanksgiving. Careful out on those roads. Take care Kelly P.S. I'm making 2 pumpkin pies next week; I'll leave one by the microware. Spellcheck is taking forever, forgive any errors!

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Morning everyone! It's a lovely 32 this morning reaching a forecasted high of 34. Dr appt today so it's a trip to the big city. I'll see what else I can sneak in there as well. There is a Mediterranean food store that I like to go to. Come to think of it I should get the cooler and ice packs ready. I can't buy too much. We're only taking the 3/4ton and it's not an extended cab :S This may require the 1 ton extended cab. Good time to Christmas shop while the stores are relatively calm. I put a pot of coffee on and some biscuits by the microwave, enjoy. I hope you all have a great day. "May the sun warm your heart; even on a cloudy day"

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Good morning everyone! Jim thought I'd give you a weather report from up here. We had a dusting of snow yesterday. I just went out to get the dog and it is a brisk 27 degrees out there. It was nice and "fresh" though. I'm busy trying to be busy. After reading Rose talk about her sewing machine it got the old juices running. I opened up my fabric cupboard and started going through patterns looking for a sewing project. I'm down to two. I'll spend today deciding. Jim thanks for the coffee and the doughnuts, they sure were tasty. I'm heading for the sewing room. Hope you all have a good day.

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Rose, DH told me to leave the dishes on Saturday so I would have something to try out in the new dishwasher. (I washed them) We drove to the big city to pick one up. Of course my luck the unit is back ordered and I won't be getting it until Dec 1. Well at least it'll be here in time for all the Christmas dishes. The fridge I just had them repair. The stove, cross fingers, is still okay. Got some Christmas shopping done while I was there. Well tonight is the night to get some more Halloween decorations up. I'm downstairs looking for my costume and thought I would drop in. Looking at the clock now it's time to get upstairs and start supper. Jon, you'll have to put up some pics of your new horses, they sound gorgeous. Kelly

Hello all! I've been busy these last few days with the dog. We're back to obedience lessons. Got to keep those up, bad parent, I was getting a little lazy. The weather here has been great. Hope it keeps up for Halloween. Speaking of which I'm getting the house and yard ready for that too. Rose, copper stealing is really a going concern up here as well. Just got my cake out the oven. Smells pretty good. I should think about icing it. Just thought I would pop in. I'll check in later. Take care everyone.

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Jim congrats on the new granddaughter! :) Happy to hear all is well. Wish I had a couple to spoil. Well, I've got the little guy next door who's a cutie. I've heard all good things about HR. I've got the fridge working. I just have to go shopping for a dishwasher; one of these days. The Dr. put me on some steroids today. They keep you awake. Last time I was on them I felt like I could clean two houses with energy to spare. We put our 5er snug as bug away for the winter. Hopefully we'll get to use it more next year. Now that I'm awake I think it's time to find something to bake. Hope everyone has a good weekend. :)

RE: Friends from the "OOP'S" thread.

Good morning all. Jim, you and yours are in our prayers. A new grandbaby to teach the ins and outs of football. My computer has been down for awhile. Just get back in touch with you all then puff! That's number 2; dwasher first now my fridge is on the fritz (#3); surely this should be the end of it; for awhile!!! Rosie I keep my fabric cupboard well stocked. So far I've been lucky that I've had enough of a fabric; and what I like to complete a project. Almost as bad as collecting shoes! Wool for crocheting and knitting on the other hand I purchase as I need it. Presently working on a crocheted sweater. I put some strong coffee on. Hope everyone has a great day. I'm not sure of the temp right now but we have rain.
